Hello & welcome

Thank you for popping by & checking out my website. Im Donna Nicholson & the person behind ANDiE & Pearl. Im a Mum & Nana & have a love for craft & creating things from a young age. My earliest crafty memory is hand embroidering a table clothing with my Nanna & as a little girl I wanted to be a fashion designer. That didn't happen but have always crafted in some way.

Many years ago I went from card making to painting MDF craft kits, this is where I discovered a fabulous small business www.olifantjie.com that produced unique multi layered kits. I soon fell in love with these kits & the variety of designs. Through the love of these products I became friends with the lady (Helen) behind the company. She offered me so much encourage & kindness that I painted examples for her to show as samples of end products for craft shopping channels. It's a huge buzz seeing your items on TV. From there I started colouring the illustration versions of Helens designs. She also encouraged me to put my ideas (instead of bombarding her with them) down & I started designing actual MDF craft kits that are available on the Olifantjie website.

So why have I mentioned Helen & Olifantjie, well without them there wouldn't be ANDiE & Pearl. I thought for a while that the illustrations of the kits would look awesome on clothing, so with the support of my hubby & Helen I decided to do it. So ANDiE & Pearl was born.

ANDiE & Pearl... where does the brand name come from? 

I wanted a name that meant something to me. first tried to use my beautiful Grandkids names but couldn't find a way to combine Faith, Arthur, Finley & Willow. So then I still went with the thoughts of my very own Grandparents, I was blessed with the most incredible Grandparents. My Nanna & Nanny, Edna & Pearl. Can you see the name forming yet & why part of ANDiE is in capital letters? It's Edna spelt backwards with an i. I mixed it up a bit & then  my brand name was born. My logo features my favourite colour green, I love all shades of green. It also has stitch pattern round the outside to represent Edna & a cream heart for Pearl. That just leaves the orange heart to show my love for Olifantjie who's logo is an orange elephant.

Thank you for reading this far. I hope what Ive wrote makes sense & doesn't contain too many Donnaisms. I just wanted to give you some back ground on  how A&P came about.
